Infrastructure Cost Reduction
Uptime Achieved
Faster Deployments
Downtime During Migration
The Challenge
An infrastructure holding back growth
NexaTech Solutions had grown rapidly as a technology company, but its infrastructure had not kept pace. The company was running entirely on aging on-premises hardware with no redundancy, no automated deployments, and mounting operational risk.
The situation was unsustainable. The team was spending more time firefighting infrastructure issues than building product. Every major deployment was a high-risk manual operation that stretched over days.
Key Pain Points
-
35% uptime degradation
Aging hardware caused frequent outages, directly impacting customer SLAs and revenue.
-
$180K/year infrastructure costs
Hardware leases, data centre colocation fees, and maintenance contracts were consuming a disproportionate share of operating budget.
-
3–4 day deployment cycles
Every release required manual coordination across multiple teams, creating bottlenecks and slowing the product roadmap.
-
No disaster recovery plan
The on-premises setup had no automated failover. A single hardware failure could mean days of data loss and service disruption.
The Solution
A complete cloud-native infrastructure rebuild
Techxil designed and executed a comprehensive cloud migration and DevOps modernisation programme for NexaTech over four months. The approach centred on zero-downtime migration, infrastructure as code, and a fully automated CI/CD pipeline.
Cloud Infrastructure
Migrated all workloads to AWS using a phased approach — starting with stateless services, followed by databases, then legacy systems. Used AWS ECS with Kubernetes orchestration for container management at scale.
Infrastructure as Code
Implemented Terraform for all infrastructure provisioning — making every environment reproducible, version-controlled, and auditable. Eliminated manual configuration drift that had plagued the previous setup.
CI/CD Pipeline
Built a complete automated pipeline using GitHub Actions. Every code commit triggers automated testing, security scanning, and staging deployment. Production deployments use blue-green strategy for zero-downtime releases.
Observability Stack
Deployed Datadog for full-stack monitoring — infrastructure metrics, application performance monitoring, distributed tracing, and automated alerting. NexaTech's team now has complete visibility into every layer of the system.
The Results
Every benchmark exceeded
The results of the migration exceeded every target NexaTech's leadership had set before the project began. The business impact was immediate and measurable from month one post-migration.
-
50% reduction in infrastructure costs
Annual infrastructure spend dropped from $180,000 to approximately $90,000 — an immediate $90K/year saving that more than covered the project cost within the first year.
-
99.99% uptime from day one of production
Multi-AZ deployment on AWS, combined with auto-scaling and health checks, eliminated the uptime issues that had plagued the previous infrastructure.
-
10x faster deployments — from days to minutes
The fully automated CI/CD pipeline reduced deployment time from 3–4 days to under 15 minutes. NexaTech's engineering team can now ship features daily rather than weekly.
-
Zero minutes of downtime during the entire migration
The blue-green migration strategy and phased cutover ensured NexaTech's customers experienced zero service interruption throughout the four-month transition period.
